The successful candidate will be reporting to the Accounting Manager, and will be interacting with our Company’s VP of Finance, the Accounting and Finance department and liaising with other internal and external stakeholders.

They will be ensuring that internal reporting is effective, timely, and accurate; that corporate assets are safeguarded; and that IFRS and other requirements are appropriately complied with.

The accountant position is located at our corporate head office at Casino Edmonton.

Core Competencies Customer Service Analytical Thinking Accountability Integrity Team Work Communication Job Duties Weekly WCLC posting Weekly VLT posting Weekly deposits GST filings for two legal entities by 20 th of the month Assist with gaming/non-gaming revenue audits that include reconciling, analyzing, recording, and reviewing documents for proper completion Special projects as assigned by senior management Month end duties: Amex Payments and expenses Inventory entries Other accruals and expense entries as needed Balance sheet account reconciliations Investigate and communicate discrepancies or other problems as requested by department managers and other team members.

Prepares necessary corrections and adjusting entries.

Review journal entries entered in NAV for accuracy, including review of supporting documentation Analyze complex data and reports Acts as the primary backup for other accountants and AP to perform partial or all duties during their absence Other duties as required.

Requirements Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience.

Experience in the restaurant industry would be an asset.

College or university degree Working towards a professional accounting designation Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Self-directed with a high degree of rigor and accountability.

The ability to work both autonomously and in a team.

Highly organized and detail oriented with a keen willingness to learn.

Ability to remain focused under pressure, prioritize tasks, and multi-task.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage and meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.

Work Conditions Exposure to office ergonomic factors including looking at the computer screen, manual dexterity – typing, mouse use etc.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment Must be able to deal with stressful situations and deadlines
