The Accounting Clerk will handle matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and be responsible for the full cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R);This terrific opportunity is for a fast growing construction company in the Vaughan area.

The Accounting Clerk must have strong written and oral communication skills, and is a hard worker with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable Utilize a number of sources to create statements and reports Classify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes Assist accounts payable with vendor invoices and disbursement filing and with A/P invoice matching filing Handle general accounting tasks: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects Assist with other related duties and special projects as assigned Use various methods to add financial information to journals and ledgers Reconcile discrepancies, and prepare correction documents as needed, by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts Requirements AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred 3 or more years of accounting experience required, preferably within collections and accounts receivable Experience in the construction industry an asset Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds Familiar with Spreadsheet and ERP system Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast paced environment.
