– Primary Objectives The Controller is responsible to support building the financial strength of the company and the integrity of the financial systems.

Strengthen the financial well-being of the Company by documenting systems that capture and build upon knowledge and follow good governance practices Direct and oversee the daily activities of the Accounting and Finance Group Support risk mitigation strategies with the CFO and Commercial Contracts Manager Strategy Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance Share analysis and recommendations Contribute and develop Finance Team Strategies Recording and Reporting Manage the Finance Team’s monthly reconciliations, reporting, and insights Execute, track and report the Company’s stock option and employee benefit plans.

Prepare internal management accounting reports, external financial statements and reports as well as financial and other information for income tax reporting purposes.

Report to the CFO and Director, Finance
– the Company’s compliance with government regulations & corporation bylaws.

Audit & Tax Comply with internal controls, ASPE and applicable federal, provincial, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting are in place Coordinate the periodic and year-end audit with the Finance Team and auditors.

Coordinate the Company’s tax strategies, tax working papers, and preparation of income tax returns and SR&ED claims Financial Planning Contribute to Management Discussion and Analysis for Executive Team, Investors, and Managers with analysis Optimize working capital through systems and transactions completed in a timely manner Other Coach and develop Finance Team to build capacity and capabilities Respond to risk assessments and implement recommendations required Respond to financing partners’ requests for information and reporting Support business grant and loan opportunities

Key Requirements 10 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in the high-tech or manufacturing industry.

BA in Accounting or Finance, CGA, CMA, or CPA designation required.

Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.

Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

High level of proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
