About the role

This is a hybrid role, working between your home office and our Vaughan location.

You will be responsible for the accurate recording of the Company’s cash and related banking activities in the General Ledger, and completion of a high volume of bank reconciliations of all cash, credit card and outstanding payments in a timely manner. You will also take on other activities relating to cash assets, including periodic financial reporting & analysis; journal entries; balance sheet reconciliations; internal & external audits; cross functional projects.

What will I do?

  • Accurately record cash activities in company’s financials (Access banking portal and export activities daily, assign accurate GL Coding and work with AR, Finance and Payroll to assign activity accordingly)
  • Complete other period end Cash related activities such as accruals for credit card discounts, bank fees and hedging entries in a 3-day month-end close.  (35%)
  • Prepare weekly/monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts by 8th day of each month for Management and Audit review. (20%)
  • Free Cash Flow reporting (Actual, dynamic weekly Forecast & Budget) (10%)
  • Create Efficiencies and Develop Process Improvements for Daily Cash Accounting Activities (5%)
  • Partner with 3rd party provider, G&T Loss Prevention, and AR Collections team to provide support relating to Credit Card Chargebacks (5%)
  • Prepare quarterly Credit Facility (BBC) reporting to parent company Treasury department and support annual bank and 3rd party related audits. (5%)
  • PCard Administration – Administer Company credit card process which includes reviewing transactions to ensure compliance with company policy, and accurate recording activity in company financials. Liaising with associates to provide support. (5%)
  • Global Sourcing – Import Customs Documentation matching & Wire payment process (5%)
  • Cash related Metrics & Expense Analysis (DPO/DSO others) (5%)
  • Participate on Finance project teams as required to implement new processes, Accounting Standards, System implementations (5%)


What qualifications do I need?

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field
  • Experience with high volumes of Bank Reconciliations/Cash Accounting
  • Active Student of CPA Accounting program (PEP/PREP level) or Designation
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Strong MS Excel skills (Spreadsheets, Lookups, Pivots)
  • Critical thinker with Proven problem-solving abilities, detail oriented and a quick learner.
  • Exposure to AS-400 environment is an asset as well as online bank environments & reporting capabilities.
  • Organized, motivated and proactive self-starter with a commitment to deadlines and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines through multitasking and “sense of urgency” task application
