Job Description Manager, Privacy & Information Security Permanent Full-time Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer (EVP & CAO) this position is responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of the hospital’s Privacy and Information Security Program including a framework to implement, monitor and improve compliance with Privacy and Information Security Standards.

This position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to establish an appropriate Privacy and Information Security Program that includes, policy, practices and standards, education awareness and training.

The incumbent will also coordinate incident response and management; logging, auditing and monitoring; risk assessment and management; contract review and management; and monitoring compliance, performance and reporting.

This role will oversee the hospital’s compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and standards regarding information security, access, and privacy, manage and monitor the performance of the Privacy and Information Security Program and Lead the planning, development and implementation of risk assessments and reviews for new projects.

You will participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of contracts, agreement, MOUs, data sharing initiatives and agreements as well as manage and oversee all freedom of information requests.

What must you have?

Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Privacy and/or Information Security or related.

Master’s Degree preferred.

What else do you bring?

Demonstrated knowledge of Privacy and Security Statutory, Regulatory Requirements and Standards, including PHIPA, FIPPA, CASL, PHA, RHPA, MHA, HCCA, ITIL, CoBIT, ISO/IEC 31000 Series, ISO/IEC 27000 Series and COSO.

Demonstrated experience with developing and providing a privacy and/or information security awareness and training program.

Experience with negotiating and supervising contracts and agreements with end users, service providers, and regulatory agencies.

Experience in managing complaints and appeals with the Information and Privacy Commissioner’s Office, including drafting representations.

Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of project management and change management.

Innovative and a key enabler to drive progress and change.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate privacy and security risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.

Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.

High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.

Significant experience in access and privacy office including the management of the process, investigation, research, analysis, policy development, training development & implementation and global privacy standards and principles.

Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite of Products.

Proven attendance record.

Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
