This is a Contract position in Vaughan, ON posted October 1, 2022.

Wood has an opportunity fora Civil Engineer to work with an international team on the detailed design phase of a mining project.

Reporting to the Office Engineering Manager, this position is part of a project team located in our Oakville, ON office.

This role will be responsible for providing design support on major EPC/EPCM, BFS Projects.

Key Responsibilities Work closely with engineers, technicians, technologists and project managers in preparation of document and drawing packages Provide civil engineering, design and drafting support for utility and industrial facilities and services, including buried and overland piping, pumping stations, access roadways, and spill containment systems Engineer civil earthworks (including ponds, mill pads, rail spurs, etc.) Engineer underground utilities (including fire water, potable water, force mains, sanitary sewer for mine and heavy industrial facilities) Engineer surface run facilities including pipelines Site grading and earthwork design Drainage design, storm sewers design, and storm management Plant and haul road design Hydrology and hydraulics Skills / Qualifications Degreein CivilEngineering or equivalent Technology Diploma with related mine experience Eligible for registration with Professional Engineers of Ontario, PEO Minimum10 years of experience in large-scale construction projects including earthwork, underground and surface utilitieswith value greater than $10M is preferred Experience in large-scale site closure/mine closure projects is preferred Self-starter and with a willingness to learn and experience Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) Ability to produce civil drawings using CAD software (predominately in AutoCAD) would be an advantage Experience with 3D design/drafting earthworks software (preference to AutoCAD Civil 3D) would be an advantage Experiencein Mineral Mining projects will be an advantage Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required Company Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
