MISSION OF THE CONCORD MUSEUM: The Concord Museum educates visitors of all ages about the history of Concord and its continuing influence on American political, literary, and cultural life.The Museum’s nationally significant collection serves as a catalyst for changing exhibitions, extended classroom learning, dynamic programs, and publications relevant to an ever-changing world.Founded in 1886, the Museum is a center of cultural enjoyment for the region and a gateway to the town of Concord for visitors from around the world.

POSITION SUMMARY The Concord Museum in Concord, Massachusetts is seeking an entrepreneurial Marketing Manager skilled at thinking both creatively and analytically about the full range of communications with the Museum’s many constituencies.

This individual will bring both dedication and enthusiasm to the organization and will be responsible for consistently projecting the Museum’s image and “brand” in favorable ways, both internally and externally.

Duties include formulating a compelling and cohesive marketing and communications strategy, determining the content of communications, and producing and publishing content.Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Marketing Manager should be comfortable finding creative ways of building an online presence, as well as using analytics in the formulation of a content strategy.

Content may include, but is not limited to videos, social media, multimedia articles, blog posts, press releases, e-blasts and print materials that aid in fostering engagement and promoting the organization.

All work for this position will be executed with the goal of fostering excitement about the Museum’s offerings and building lasting relationships with visitors, members, donors, and the wider community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Collaborate with members of the various Museum departments to best understand their goals and needs for the promotion of their initiatives.

·Develop an annual marketing plan for the Museum.

·Formulate a cross-platform content and communications strategy.

·Establish and oversee a style guide for the Museum to ensure branding and identity is consistent across all communications.

·Serve as point of contact for all media outlets, including television, radio, print, and digital.Seek earned media coverage for all exhibitions, events, and openings.

·Write and distribute press releases to media; act as point of contact for all media inquiries.

·Manage distribution of rack cards and other marketing collateral.

·Manage all social media channels with a clear and authentic voice.

Current platforms include Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

A presence on additional platforms is highly encouraged.

·Create and post new and engaging content across all platforms including social media, website and email.

·Provide editorial, creative and technical support to team members.

·Track web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels.

·Maintain the calendar for Museum email blasts, providing layout using copy supplied by team members.

·Assist with filming and/or streaming programs and events.

·Update and manage content on website on a weekly basis and attend to SEO.

·Manage and engage with visitors on 3rd party review platforms such as Google My Business, TripAdvisor and Yelp.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
·Excellent communication skills, oral and written.

·Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or related field.

·Ability to develop original content that stimulates and sustains engagement.

·High degree of computer and mobile literacy.

·Knowledge of video editing software.

·Proficiency with popular content management systems.

·Experience with social media management.

·Familiarity with Adobe, WordPress and/or HTML preferred.

·Experience with Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, or other tools for blast emails.

·Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time.

·Dependability and trustworthiness.

·Flexibility and willingness to be a team player.

·Sense of humor.
