Job title :AMBULATORY CARE NURSE Community :VERNON Facility :VERNON JUBILEE HOSPITAL Status :RELIEF FULL TIME Position Summary Vernon Jubilee Hospital has an immediate opening for an Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse skilled in Endoscopy advanced practice.

VJH is a 186-bed, health service area hospital offering core physician specialties, 24 hour emergency and trauma services, acute and obstetrical care.

VJH’s Ambulatory Care operates Monday to Friday.

Minor surgeries, including Plastic Surgery, ENT are performed, as well as medical treatments including blood product transfusions and IV treatments.

As member of the VJH Ambulatory Care team, you perform assessments, plan, implement and provide personal and nursing care to patients.

Reporting to Manger, Clinical Operations, you will draw upon your ability to administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.

This position is to provide coverage until April 2022, or the return of incumbent.

Shifts will be on a rotating schedule of Days.

Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCMN).

Advanced preparation in one of the clinical specialties as required by the position:
• Minor Procedures Clinic
– completion of additional education in perioperative nursing (including theory and practicum in scrub and circulating roles), plus two year’s recent related ambulatory care experience which includes experience in minor surgical, and/or medical specialty clinics in an acute care facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Endoscopy
– completion of additional education in gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing and a minimum of two year’s recent, related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current CPR certification required.
