Senior Medical Director Psychiatry, Ambulatory Services Senior Medical Director Psychiatry, Ambulatory Services 0.4 FTE Child, Youth and Reproductive Mental Health BC Children’s Hospital Vancouver, BC BC Children’s Hospital ( BCCH ) cares for the province’s most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services.

BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

BCCH is a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority ( PHSA ), which plans, manages and evaluates specialized health services with the BC health authorities to provide equitable and cost-effective health care for people throughout the province.

You will be part of a network of more than 2,700 specialized physicians who impact patient care daily, within the largest network of tertiary services in B.C.

Learn more about PHSA and our programs: The Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a Senior Medical Director, Psychiatry
– Ambulatory Services to work in collaboration with the Program Director(s) for the program’s clinics and services.

Areas of responsibility include several Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinics (e.g.

Infant Psychiatry, OCD Program, Gender Clinic, Teaching Clinic), and the Compass, Psychotherapy, Telehealth/Outreach, and Mindfulness programs.

Reporting to the Associate Psychiatrist in Chief (APiC) and the Executive Director (ED), the Senior Medical Director (SMD), is accountable for all aspects of Ambulatory Care within the program: quality of care, clinical, academic, strategic planning, and financial/physician human resources.

The SMD has opportunities to impact the future of program development and implementation across British Columbia, through participation in provincial-level planning with community partners and development of the existing Telehealth program to improve access in rural and remote areas.

The SMD will take a leadership role in the development and implementation of the Department’s academic program to ensure an environment that supports and fosters optimal teaching, research and knowledge translation.

As the successful candidate for this position, you will have demonstrated a commitment to academic and clinical excellence as well as patient
– and family-centred care.

You will have passed or be eligible for membership with Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) and the College of Physician and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary team environment and will demonstrate a trauma informed approach in their clinical work and professional relationships.
