Your Opportunity: Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity for a skilled clinician wishing to work with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team that supports the rapidly evolving Stroke Services at the Walter C.

Mackenzie Campus.

This position reports to the Stroke Program Manager in the Edmonton Zone.

Description: The primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive direct patient care to the Adult Stroke population in consultation with the faculty of Neurosciences.

The Nurse Practitioner
– Stroke Program is required to perform comprehensive assessments, diagnosis (including ordering and interpretation of test results), interventions (including prescribing of medications), management, referral and evaluation of patient care.

The incumbent is expected to provide leadership and participate in program development and evaluation, research and clinical teaching activities.

The NP consistently exercises a leadership role in utilizing best practice in stroke care.

Classification: Nurse Practitioner Union: Exempt Department: Stroke Nurse Practitioner Primary Location: U of A Hospital Negotiable Location: Within Edmonton Zone Employee Class: Regular Full Time FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 22-JAN-2021 Date Available: 01-JAN-2021 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $48.27 Maximum Salary: $62.91 Vehicle Requirement: Driver’s License, Vehicle Required Required Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized Nursing education program.

A Master Degree in Nursing with a focus on Advanced Clinical Practice.

Must have current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) in the NP adult stream with current experience as a NP in an acute care setting, preferably Stroke Care, Neurosciences or Critical Care.

A minimum of 5 full time years of related experience as a Registered Nurse, with demonstrated as well as current Basic Cardiac Life Support
– Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification and ACLS are required.

Additional Required Qualifications: Demonstrated participation in profession-specific and inter-professional practice committees, project and change management experiences.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with strong record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.

Ability to self-direct the adaptation and evaluation of role for potential growth opportunities.
