The Health Services Division (HSD) leads the service transformation across the health sector, bringing together key mandated initiatives and specialized services for priority populations adding enhanced value and focus to health sector areas requiring substantive change.

HSD is responsible for core service/policy development for specialized services (home and community care, residential care, mental health and substance use, wait times, surgical services, diagnostic imaging, cancer care, Hospital, Acute & Provincial Services) while ensuring a strong linkage to transformation activities and ensuring consistent and coordinated delivery of specialized services to patients.

Two positions are available in the Seniors Services Branch which leads collaborative development of evidence informed policy in support of high quality person-centred Home and Community Care and support services including home health, long-term care and assisted living.

One position is with the Home Health team which leads improvement in the delivery of publicly subsidized home health services, with a focus on helping individuals to remain living in their home.

Services in home settings include home care nursing, allied professional health services, home support, caregiver respite, and palliative care.

The Home Health team also provides oversight and coordination of investments in seniors’ service programs delivered by community organizations, supporting enhanced health, well being, resilience and connection of seniors within their community.

One position is with the Long-Term Care and Assisted Living team.

The delivery of long-term care services in BC is intended to support individuals who are living with complex care needs and can no longer be cared for in their own homes or in an assisted living residence.

Long-term care homes across BC offer 24-hour professional nursing care and supervision within a multidisciplinary team, along with providing meals; medication management; personal care; assistance with activities of daily living; a range of social and recreational activities; and other services such as housekeeping and laundry.

Job Overview In this role you will coordinate and lead the research, analysis, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategic policies and legislation for a significant ministry program Provides advice and recommendations regarding projects for home and community care (HCC) services that improve access, quality and integration with the full continuum of health care services (including primary care, Health Authorities, health professionals, and community organizations), as well as issues management for service delivery.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: Master’s Degree (may be preferred) in public administration, business administration, health administration, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; and, a minimum of 2 years progressive and recent, related experience.

OR Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, health administration, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; and, a minimum of 3 years progressive and recent, related experience.

OR Diploma in public administration, business administration, health administration, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; and, a minimum of 4 years progressive and recent, related experience.

OR No degree/diploma and a minimum of 5 years progressive and recent, related experience.

Recent, (within the last 7 years) and progressive related experience must include all of the following: Experience in the development of policy, regulation and/or legislation in the health care sector (may be preferred) or social policy sector.

Experience in planning, coordinating, and completing complex projects/assignments.

Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.

Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e.

PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following: Experience leading components of major projects/initiatives with Health Authorities.

Experience navigating challenging stakeholder interactions.

Experience leading working groups/committees and providing secretariat support.
