Total Rewards Consultant

The Total Rewards Consultant will be responsible for implementing total rewards strategies across Grainger Canada while partnering with different client groups. Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, the role will be responsible for the administration of total rewards programs including the implementation of compensation, benefits, pensions and employee team members’ experience programs. Additionally, this role will partner with the benefits administrator to support administration and oversight of Company group benefit programs and will participate in related projects as required.

 

  • Provide support for the design, implementation and ongoing administration of total rewards programs including job evaluations, key salary recommendations, and other reward related projects.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of all compensation & benefits programs and assist to develop appropriate models and facilitate design of pay ranges and annual/ quarterly incentive pay programs.
  • Participate in vendor negotiations to identify impact of proposed contract changes and effectively manage vendor relationships. Develop a working knowledge of the vendor policies and procedures that impact our plans, team members and retirees.
  • Serve as interface between total rewards and payroll
  • Utilize published surveys to establish appropriate market trends and review all job descriptions to provide appropriate management recommendations
  • Monitor required market data and develop salary structures for all compensation programs and maintain and update an effective HRIS system and evaluate all changes in same.
  • Administer and oversee the pension enrolment and termination processes to ensure materials are processed in a timely, legislatively compliant manner and monitor results to ensure 100% compliance; provide documentation for annual internal and external audit requests. Responsible for completion of annual pension regulatory filings and other legislated reporting
  • Work with service provider in development, update, and delivery of educational and communication sessions and materials to promote plan members’ awareness and understanding of all Grainger Canada benefits program
  • Partner with manager total rewards to manage relationships with 3rd party providers for selected benefit programs to ensure service level agreements are adhered to and that we maximize the program’s offering; Validating and approving invoices from service providers
  • Partner with and provide backup to others on the Total Rewards team as required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in total rewards management, payroll, finance, compensation, pension and benefit administration
