Electrical Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities: Direct and coordinate electrical planning and implementation ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirements Designs items such as electrical equipment arrangements, lighting layouts and LV single line diagrams Provide electrical calculations such as volt-drop, EHT heat loss, illumination level, distribution transformer sizing and panel loading Create technical reports, documentation, calculations and sketches Create conceptual designs for assigned projects Maintain up-to-date electrical engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices Create specifications as needed Perform electrical studies as assigned The duties and responsibilities mentioned, while not exhaustive, represent responsibilities that the Electrical Design Engineer will hold.

Qualifications And Requirements Post-secondary Degree or Certificate in Electrical Engineering required Masters degree in (Electrical) Engineering is an asset Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is an asset QA experience is an asset 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering required PMP is an asset Work experience designing HV substations, hydroelectric plants, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems required Work experience with fire alarms, lighting and emergency power generation preferred Demonstrated experience working on various retail/commercial building projects Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian electrical standards Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills Excellent time management skills Excellent independent judgement and reasoning This position is full time and located in Vancouver, BC.
