Overview / Responsibilities Wood is recruiting a Marketing Communications (MarComms) Advisor based in Calgary, AB.

This person will become an integral member of the Oil & Gas Canada team, focusing on meaningful relationships and a deep-rooted business understanding to develop and deliver imaginative, impactful, tailored and timely content in support of internal and external regional campaigns.

As MarComms Advisor, the role holder will plan and deliver clear and engaging marketing and communications that will support growth of Wood’s business in Oil & Gas Canada.

The role demands a highly motivated, strategic and engaging individual that has a clear and knowledgeable understanding of stakeholders and channels and can develop and deliver compelling internal and external marketing and communications content.

Working as part of Calgary’s MarComms team, they will engage with peers locally to support the successful and tailored delivery of campaigns across the Canadian business.

They will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and measuring the effect of external communications, marketing and internal communications and engagement activities within the region.

They will drive a targeted and measured approach to a broad range of stakeholders including clients, media, industry bodies and employees.

This is a multi-faceted role that requires a considered and adaptable marcomms individual that can work on projects covering the full communications mix.

They will deliver compelling internal and external stories, differentiated and dynamic content and play a key role in building, safeguarding and enhancing Wood’s reputation.

Please note this role will work our standard hybrid work schedule.

Key Accountabiolities and Responsibilities A key member of Oil & Gas Canada’s marcomms team, strongly focused on the development and delivery of strategic marketing and communications solutions in support of regional business objectives.

Takes complex, technical topics and turns them into compelling content; exceptional written and verbal communications skills; proofreading and editing capability.

Identifies and develops compelling, relevant stories from around the business consistently.

Acutely understands the relevant business sectors and can create crisp content marketing material and establish opportunities to position Wood and its leaders as an authoritative commentator.

Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to influence the planning, design and delivery of marketing and communications content that is both fit for purpose and inspiring.

Promotes increased employee engagement and communications within the region through the delivery of impactful internal campaigns.

Supports the co-ordination and timing of regional internal and external marcomms campaigns.

Delivers key marketing projects and events with creativity, precision and measurable results.

Facilitates and coordinates participation and engagement at relevant tradeshows, conferences and other client related events to enhance and increase brand awareness.

Ensures timely delivery of projects – takes responsibility for personal deadlines, contribution and expectations.

Identifies and seeks opportunities to enhance Wood’s regional reputation through positive coverage in selected traditional as well as digital and social media.

Ownership of projects, events and campaigns Ability to influence regional marcomms activity.

Ability to make decisions about content creation and direction.

Skills / Qualifications Knowledge, skills and experience: University degree or equivalent in a marketing, communications, business or related field.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a communications and/or marketing role, preferably within the energy industry but not critical.

Associated experience in agency, journalism, copy writing deemed equivalent.

Knowledge of communication methods and channels relevant to a large, complex organization, with demonstrable experience using a multi-channel strategy.

Knowledge of market and industry issues and trends.

Content development, creative writing, concept development and examples of published work.

Experience in campaign delivery and measurement.

Event planning and delivery.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.

Other design and presentation software is an asset but not required.

Experience in marketing techniques (layout, graphics, value proposition) preferred Personal Attributes: Highly creative thinker and problem solver with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent presenter and persuader.

Enthusiasm, can-do attitude and energy.

Good organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and take responsibility for project delivery.

A team player with the ability to guide and influence with excellent articulation skills.

Capable of time and priority management, and ability to work under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with large section of the business and influence decision making and direction.
