Business Systems Analyst

Xplornet Communications Inc.

This is a Contract position in Vaughan, ON posted June 5, 2021.

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to be located in our Woodstock or Fredericton, NB office.

The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for working with stakeholders and other team members to identify, understand and document business system requirements and processes in order to recommend, build and support the delivery of quality systems solutions and/or enhancements to existing systems.

Business Systems Analysts are responsible for coordinating functional and/or user acceptance testing with other teams as well as overseeing the resolution of reported defects within the scope of certain projects or enhancements.

This role will work with the various functional areas within the organization as well as the internal IT team to ensure new features or functionality are well understood and effectively communicated.

Key responsibilities include:
• Meet and interact with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operational requirements and systems goals, identify and resolve systems issues.

• Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations and information process flows.

• Create concise, quality documentation for requirements, integrations, flows and system designs that support business, technical and support team requirements.

• Collaborate in the planning, design, development, testing and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.

• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

This can include performing a cost-benefit analysis for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

• Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.

• Participate in pre and post deployment activities such as UAT, go/no go meetings, release planning, post deployment testing, monitoring and/or support.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science or management information systems.

• Business Analyst Certification(s) such as IIBA-CBAP, PMI-PBA, IQBBA.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the following: o Gathering, documenting and analyzing business, process and systems requirements.

o Planning, documenting and overseeing the design, development, testing and implementation of quality software solutions, systems or products.

• Experience and understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) in both Waterfall and Agile Methodologies.

• Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment with often changing priorities.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Solution oriented and self-motivated with strong initiative and team work.

• Demonstrated project management skills.

• Ability to conduct research into system issues and products as required.

• Practical knowledge in gathering data for use in reports, spreadsheets, graphs and flow charts.

SQL skills are beneficial.

• Knowledge and experience in Salesforce, Azure DevOps, SAP, and data migrations is considered a strong asset.
