Career Advisor and Employer Relations Coordinator

Career Advisor and Employer Relations Coordinator Career Development and Employment Centre Employment Opportunity 006-22.23 The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Career Advisor and Employer Relations Coordinator with the Career Development and Employment Centre.

This is a continuing, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $44,556
– $55,695 per annum.

Reporting to the Director, CDEC, the Career Advisor and Employer Relations Coordinator (CAERC) works to develop and maintain partnerships with employers to assist them with recruiting activities and strategically increase employers’ presence on campus.

Additionally, the CAERC provides career advising and career exploration guidance and coaching to students through individual appointments, presentations, and workshops, both in-person and virtually, Position summary: Establish and enhance new and existing employer relationships; coordinate employer outreach activities, including Career Fairs, company information sessions, on-campus workshops and interviews, and other related events Attend local events to develop and maintain strong connections with the employer community.

Stay current with local, regional, and national labour market trends.

Develop and maintain student/employer databases and research outcomes/statistics.

Collaborate to develop marketing for campus recruitment events, job postings, career fairs, presentations, etc.

Design and implement effective networking opportunities to connect students with employers.

Manage and review employers and information session submissions to ExperienceUNB and report fraudulent activity.

Encourage employer use of the ExperienceUNB platform.

Act as a point of contact for new employer registrations.

Update/promote the event calendar on the ExperienceUNB platform and share information via various platforms/methods.

Track revenue and expenses associated with employer events and submit regular reports.

Seek to enhance revenue-generating activities where available and appropriate.

Collaborate with team members and campus partners to develop programs and presentations.

Advise students on community resources, government programs, job search techniques, career development, and issues related to unemployment and hiring.

Identify gaps in resources and career development education.

Create material/presentations to address this need.

Develop, facilitate, and evaluate the success of individual and group career advising sessions.

Maintain focus on implementing goals laid out in strategic plans.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills: An undergraduate degree or a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Three years of relevant experience required.

Experience working in higher education, or a workforce/career development field is considered an asset Ability to create and maintain professional networks.

Ability to work with people of all backgrounds.

Experience in customer service-related roles requiring a demonstration of initiative/ownership to resolve problems.

Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals.

Practical problem solving and organizational skills.

Effective written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Familiarity with Career Development Theory.

NB Career Development Practitioners Certificate is an asset.

Ability to work independently as well as be a contributing team member.

Familiarity and experience with O365 apps and social media platforms are essential.

Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
