Corporate Process Engineer

Woodbridge

This is a Full-time position in Vaughan, ON posted September 8, 2019.

Role Purpose: Provide technical support to manufacturing locations through process related problem solving, process improvements and cost reduction programs, and the development and implementation of improved formulations, methods, equipment and associated technology, new product launches and new plant startups.

Support, coordinate and assist in sampling activities.

Prepare and analyze technical reports.

Responsibilities: Provide technical support and training to manufacturing locations through process-related problem-solving, process improvements and cost reduction programs, and the development and implementation of improved formulations, methods, equipment and associated technology.

Implement and audit manufacturing engineering standards.

Work with and train new process teams.

Reduce costs related to scrap through appropriate tracking and analysis.

Assist plants in optimizing the appropriate process chemistry.

Work with engineering and plant team to start up new facilities and equipment.

Monitor and analyze problems using SPC, and other techniques to identify and implement corrective actions, new product launches, and new plant start-ups.

Coordinate and assist in sampling activities.

Interface with customers, suppliers and plants in respect to process related quality concerns.

Prepare and analyze technical reports.

Manage and assist in the implementation of corporate standards.

Qualifications: Engineering degree with 1-3 years production line (polyurethane) process engineering experience in molded foam manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and directly applicable working experience.

Working knowledge of SPC, design of experiment, methods and applicable technology, in-depth understanding of urethane chemistry, application of equipment and systems, and the ability to use this knowledge in the manufacturing environment.

Understanding of robotic operations and computer skills.

Previous supervisory experience an asset.

Must be willing and able to travel extensively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
