Anne Position Type: Full-Time Position Status: Permanent FTE: 1.0 Hours of Work: 7.75 hour shifts Shift(s): Days Union: CUPE Start Date: May 16, 2022 Closing Date: May 19, 2022 1600 hrs Yes Position Description Reporting to the Director of Health Services, the Maintenance 5 th Class Power Engineer is a position within the regional physical plant team.

Responsibilities include the safe and efficient operation of the hot water heating and cooling plant, preventative maintenance and, assisting in ongoing repairs and maintenance in all regional properties (owned or leased) within the east district.

Works with outside contractors as necessary to assist in performing maintenance or construction jobs.

Other duties may include snow clearing, local trips for pick-up or deliveries of equipment and fire alarm response.

The incumbent will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters.

The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Qualifications Proficiency of both official languages is essential (French/English) Current Manitoba Department of Labor 5 th Class Power Engineer Demonstrated ability to work with computer-controlled building management systems Demonstrated ability to problem solve within the responsibilities of the position Demonstrated ability to be flexible in adjusting within a changing environment Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with others Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships Demonstrated ability in written and comprehension skills, excellent communication skills and documentation skills Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums Good work and attendance record Conditions of Employment Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
