JOB TITLE: Nuclear Engineer DIVISION: Core LOCATION OF WORK: Oak Ridge, TN TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: Minimal travel ( DESCRIPTION: Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC) seeks outstanding talent to join its dynamic team to develop clean energy.

The Nuclear Fuel Engineer position provides a rare and exciting opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities leading to the deployment of nuclear fuels in USNC’s nuclear reactor product lines.

The candidate will provide in-depth technical expertise on many aspects of TRISO-based fuel forms during the design, manufacturing, qualification, and deployment phases.

The Nuclear Fuel Engineer will report to the Fuel Design Manager in USNC’s Core Division.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Analysis of advanced nuclear fuel.

You will serve as a fuel design and analysis specialist in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that develops the world’s safest nuclear fuel that powers the world’s most innovative reactors.

Manufacturing support.

You will develop specifications and work with the manufacturing team to develop and implement manufacturing and quality assurance methods and continuous improvements that ensure a product that meets your high expectations for performance and safety.

Testing and evaluation.

You will play a key role in fuel characterization, irradiation testing, and post-irradiation examination campaigns that provide the data required to prove that the fuel meets our stringent requirements.

Licensing support.

You will interpret the data from manufacturing, fuel performance modeling, and testing to support the case for licensing of new fuels and materials.

Complete your responsibilities in compliance with USNC environmental health and safety (EH&S) and quality assurance programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Postgraduate degree (M.S.

or Ph.D.) in nuclear, mechanical, materials, or related engineering discipline Expertise in developing and running radiation transport and reactor physics software.

Solid foundation in mechanical engineering aspects of nuclear fuel operation and analysis Excellent writing skills with experience in drafting reports, publications, and presentations Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Proactive, well-organized, and highly motivated Team-oriented, self-starter that can work independently and professionally PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES: Strong background in nuclear fuels and materials gained through postgraduate education or experience Experience using reactor safety, thermomechanical modeling, and/or computational fluid dynamics software Experience and/or skill set consistent with fuel design in the context of reactor performance requirements and fuel qualification Experience or familiarity with fuel characterization, irradiation testing, and post-irradiation examination Basic familiarity with quality assurance and continuous improvement methods Experience working in a radiological environment TO APPLY: Please include the following in your application in PDF format: Cover Letter Resume EXPORT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS: To confirm to U.S.
