Packaging Group Leader

This is a Full-time position in Vaughan, ON posted July 16, 2019.

Our client, a major food manufacturing company is looking to add two Group Leader Packaging to their team.

There is a Group Leader Packaging days and nights.

Key Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring all lines are set up and equipment fully operational to meet daily production requirements Ensure changeovers between product runs are completed quickly and efficiently Troubleshoot and resolve all equipment and quality issues to find corrective actions to minimize down time and product waste Manage daily timesheets for all employees both full time and temporary Lead by example to ensure all H&S policies and procedures are adhered to identifying any non-conforming issues.

Participate in any corrective action necessary to eliminate any unsafe equipment or workplace hazards Monitor and ensure that GMP is being adhered to throughout the daily production Manage FIFO regarding WIP materials Ensue all SOP’s are adhered to for all productions Be liaison with Production Supervisor and QA management regarding any issues with quality or safety Provide training, coaching to production workers to ensure that they are working at optimal effectiveness Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve production processes Responsible for monitoring daily reports for accuracy before providing to Production Supervisor at the end of the shift Ensure all new employees are given H&S training before starting their roles Responsible for daily RedZone activities including entering information with regards to start
– ups, downtime, and Quality Assurance checks.

As well, attend daily huddle meetings Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent At least 4-6 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership role preferably in the food, pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and Health and Safety is preferred.

Good planning, organization and time management skills Demonstrates a team-oriented mindset Results oriented, sense of responsibility and good judgment Demonstrates a high degree of autonomy, initiative and resourcefulness Good communicator, motivator with a positive attitude Proficient with computer applications Good verbal and written communication skills
