Specialist, Managed Security Solutions – CIC Vaughan and Vancouver


This is a Full-time position in Vaughan, ON posted December 30, 2018.

Job Type: Permanent Primary Location: Vaughan, Ontario, Canada All Available Locations: Vancouver; Vaughan External Posting Description Position overview: Reporting to the SOC Engineering manager, the Managed Security Solutions Specialist is self-motivated, energetic, driven for success and results oriented.

Your knowledge of technical controls, service management, professional services and the firm will help you to support delivery and execution of managed security services offered by Deloitte.

The Specialist will also be a key player and part of a team providing world-class security operations capabilities for our clients and a capability aligned with our strategic direction and that helps the firm better deliver on new and existing engagements.

Our network of Cyber Intelligence Centres in Canada are located in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

We are recruiting in each of our Toronto Operations Centre.

Occasional travel to local clients may be required and there are also opportunities for travel nationally and globally if the candidate is interested.

The Specialist will participate in an after-hours 24×7 On-Call rotation as required.

Ability to obtain Government of Canada “Secret” security clearance is required.

Responsibilities: Service Design, Transition, and Operation of the Deloitte Cyber Intelligence Center’s Managed Security Solutions offering.

As a multi-tenant provider, our customer platforms include, but are not limited to: Firewall Network IDS/IPS Network Access Control (NAC) Web Proxy Endpoint Security Email Security Operations Support the client as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for steady-state managed solutions Fulfill service requests for the range of supported technologies: Intake, plan, and deliver client deliverables such as configuration changes, information requests, and/or technical expertise Incident Response: Identify, investigate and resolve service outage or degradation of a managed security solution, and if required, engage and support the client and service providers Maintain current knowledge database through technical documentation and knowledge transfer sessions Tune, maintain, and report upon system/network event monitoring platforms Lifecycle management: Plan, schedule and execute version updates to managed security solutions Identify versions of solutions approaching end of life and plan replacement solution Service offering growth Collaborate with other SOC functional teams to transition service design changes of client environments into operations Assist with capacity management process Research and evaluate technical solutions Driving business requirements into technical requirements Support RFP process Identify incident trends, investigate and diagnose problems, propose and lead the implementation of technical and functional environment improvements Identify sales opportunities with the objective of maturing client security posture Professional Attributes: Excellent written and oral communication skills including both technical and business writing, documentation and presentation skills Strong project management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong critical thinking and contextual analysis abilities Self-directed, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Ability to work out of hours and on call as needed External Posting Qualifications Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant area of study with a preference for Network Administration or Information security Minimum of 2 years in network administration and security Proven system troubleshooting experience in production network infrastructure environments Customer service and excellence experience Proven understanding of IT security concepts Experience following change management process and reviews Ability to understand IT risks and implications to the business, identify weaknesses and recommend solutions Experience and working knowledge of the following platforms: Endpoint Protection (e.g.

McAfee ePO, Trend DDI, Carbon Black, Bit9, etc.) Firewalls (e.g.

Cisco ASA, Check Point, Palo Alto, Juniper) Network IDS/IPS (e.g.

Cisco FirePOWER, Sourcefire, Snort, McAfee NSP) Network Access Control (e.g.

Cisco ISE, Bradford Networks) Email Security (e.g.

Cisco CES, Proofpoint) Web Proxies (e.g.

BlueCoat, Zscaler) Load Balancers (e.g.

NetScaler, F5) Routers and switches (e.g.

Cisco, Juniper) Desirable Qualifications: Experience participating in network operations design and implementation initiatives Experience in a NOC, SOC or MSSP environment Experience with structured change management, configuration management Experience as an project or operations subject matter expert resource Experience providing input into or developing security architecture Experience managing vendor relationships Experience managing client service relationships Experience evaluating and developing security controls Exposure to ITIL, ISO 9001, PCI DSS or ISO 27001 standards, practices and controls Vendor-specific certifications (Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), McAfee, etc.) an asset.

Industry certifications (CISSP/SANS) are strong assets.
