Senior Account Executive – Mining


This is a Contract position in Vaughan, ON posted July 13, 2021.

Aon is looking for a Senior Account Executive Position Profile: As a Senior Account Executive with the National Mining Practice in Toronto, you are responsible for providing technical and administrative coordination on all aspects of the account, including client services and marketing activities.

This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of client coverage and marketing and serving as the internal central contact point on an account.

This role holds the following responsibilities: Job responsibilities: Directing and managing accounts and working with the associate account executives in delivering to our clients.

Serving as the internal contact point on all aspects of account activity.

Receiving and processing client requests and reviewing documentation for routine policy changes, additions, deletions, renewals or cancellations; Coordinating client information with Broking Team to initiate renewal process; Receiving policy contracts from Broking Team, providing first level review to ensure apparent client needs have been met, in conjunction with the Associate Account Executives.

Analyzing contracts of clients and their projects identifying potential issues that could be of concern with respect to indemnities and insurance requirements (i.e anticipate underwriting issues) In conjunction with the Associate Account Executive, servicing existing programs, defining routine risk exposure and providing first level advice on general policy coverage; Preparing client service summaries, program reports and client survey information for review by Service Team Management; Reviewing endorsements, cover notes and certificates of insurance produced by the broking team to ensure their accuracy and completion in support of the team’s service plan; Managing and overseeing the 120 day Renewal Process including preparing the renewal report, presenting to client for approval, obtaining the binding order, and reviewing policy documentation and delivering to client in a timely manner.

Assisting in the reviewing of large claims and managing the client issues around claims handling.

Developing and managing the relationship at a senior level to become the client’s risk management advisor.

Cross-selling and expanding the existing insurance programs with our clients; developing and managing client relationships in order to increase penetration sales and cultivate new business opportunities.

Business Results Producing new business and assisting in the development of sales and marketing strategy designed to cultivate revenue generation opportunities.

Developing comprehensive annual and quarterly new business sales and development plans for identified targeted prospects and existing clients based on being accountable for pre-agreed financial goals.

Developing new contacts and build relationships with prospects that align with the Region’s/Branch’s acknowledged targeted industry or segment groups.

Providing the leadership necessary for development and delivery of insurance and industry related presentations/seminars prospects and clients as required.

Acting as the visible face of Aon to the clients/prospects in the community, working to consistently prospect and facilitating lead generation activities.

Performing other related duties as assigned to deliver business results and distinctive client value.

Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 12 years of commercial insurance experience preferred; Experience in, or familiarity with, heavy industries such as mining, forestry and energy is considered an asset but is not required; Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision; Client relationship focused; Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines; Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education and Professional Development: University Degree or equivalent preferred; An accounting or engineering designation/degrees would be considered an asset.
