Shipping and Receiving Leader


This is a Full-time position in Vaughan, ON posted July 16, 2019.

Our client, a major food manufacturing company is looking to add a Group Leader Shipping/Receiving to their team.

The Group Leader Shipping/Receiving is responsible for ensuring the receiving and inventory control documentation and related reports.

Key Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring the shipping and receiving, inventory and issuing of materials, WIP’s and finished products are delivered in a timely manner to meet production schedules Collaborates with the Shipping Supervisor to determine storage locations to ensure maximum use of space Ensures staff receive adequate training and guidance to ensure maximum efficiencies Manges the receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications and packing slips; contact vendors or supply chain regarding shortages, damaged goods or other discrepancies; complete receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports.

Fills, prioritizes and processes requisitions; pulls, stages and ships products according to established procedures; drive a truck to deliver materials and product as needed; maintain records.

Ensures materials are sent from the3 warehouse to production following FIFO Keeps track of stock levels; notifies materials group to reorder re-order items in accordance with established guidelines Prepares, maintains and submits reports related to warehouse operations as required Actively participates in the performance of periodic and annual physical inventories; conduct physical inventories; conduct regular cycle counts of materials and product as required.

Maintains the warehouse in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition; monitors for correct temperature conditions in storage areas.

Makes recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.

Serves as the Warehouse Supervisor in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor as assigned.

Enforce the quality management program (HACCP) and GMP rules to ensure the quality and safety of products manufactured and shipped; Ensures health and safety in the workplace conformance and adheres to the Company’s Health & Safety program; .

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position as a team lead; experience in the food industry preferred Current forklift certification Experience with narrow aisle reach trucks High attestation to detail with respects to cycle counts and inventory Proven teamwork abilities Results oriented, sense of responsibility and good judgment Demonstrates a high degree of autonomy, initiative and resourcefulness Results oriented and thrives in a fast paced, demanding environment.

Good communicator, motivator with a positive attitude.

Able to write legibly in English Good knowledge of computer programs with accurate data entry skills
