Role Summary The Director of Global Talent Management will set the strategic platform for talent management including but not limited to: succession planning, performance management, talent development, talent attraction, talent programs, talent-related employer branding, metrics and key business activities as they relate to talent management.

In this role, the Director will partner with senior business leaders, Group leaders and the Global Director PD&T to facilitate senior management in benching strength, increasing talent retention, driving a culture of development, performance and accountability, building leadership capability, and supporting careers in a way that aligns with current and future business needs.

This role is the key conduit between the Groups, Executive Leaders and HR in the implementation and support of programs to develop talent throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities Responsible for developing the Global PD&T Talent Management Roadmap and providing strategic insight in the subject matter.

Additionally, must deliver core talent management support in areas such as succession planning (LDS), talent attraction, performance management, talent development & talent metrics Leading and supporting a talent management community that supports all groups, regions and functions at Magna.

Will collaborate with Country & Group Directors to move strategies and initiatives forward, and will market talent management products and services throughout Magna Must effectively partner with all levels of management to develop and implement innovative new talent management policies and programs.

Additionally, will align and leverage Magna-wide talent management practices that have a direct impact on front level HR Managers and/or Recruiters Building relationships with Business, Functional and HR leaders to drive Talent Management processes into the business cycle and ensure there is a focus on building and maintaining a high performance culture by accurately assessing talent, crafting development plans and actions and following through on the outcomes of these assessments and actions through the system Managing vendors, both software and service partners, to continuously improve systems, processes and service levels to meet the needs of Magna Corporate, Groups and/or Divisions level objectives.

This includes negotiating contracts with an optimum mix of price and quality while ensuring that the agreements with the vendors / suppliers are advantageous for Magna.

Accountable for executing a pragmatic, dynamic performance management and succession planning process to enhance core strengths in the organization and to ensure a talent pipeline (internal and external) of prepared leaders to support the organization’s growth Leading the day-to-day management of the annual talent review and succession management process, and providing the appropriate education and training to managers and Group PD&T SMEs.

Furthermore, facilitates Corporate Talent Review Meetings (TRM) including dashboard design, through development of Senior Leaders, inclusive of moderation of level TRMs and action plans Other Duties Directing one or more departments (global sub department of PD&T), providing employees with leadership, coaching, mentoring, training and performance management to ensure departmental effectiveness and productivity Establishing staffing levels within the department, and ensuring all employees are appropriately selected, motivated and retained Developing, maintaining and continuously improving the effectiveness of the departmental policies and procedures Keeping up to date with market trends and new developments; utilizing information for business improvement including social media, talent management and system trends Participating in the annual business/budget review and completing the departmental budget, as well as monitoring to ensure budget is achieved Key Qualifications/Requirements Knowledge and Education Completion of a University degree Completion of a post-graduate degree at a Master’s level or professional designation Work Experience Must have 7 or more years of work-related experience Skills and Competencies Ability to work independently and manage multiple demands Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present and position new ideas, initiatives and gain buy-in and support Detail oriented with strong analytical skills Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Excellent organizational, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Work Environment The majority of the job is performed in a standard office environment with minimal risk or harmful elements.
