Manager – HR Business Partner

We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Edmonton.

In this position, you will leverage your expertise to consult and partner with our Canadian operations group across all facets of HR.

It goes without saying, this is a high visibility role.

Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience and partner with leadership to develop and implement innovative and lasting solutions.

Advise, mentor/coach and guide all levels of leadership to develop positive employee engagement and leadership skills.

Prepare and/or provide feedback on coaching / progressive discipline documentation including but not limited to letters of expectations, PIPs, etc.

and maintain discipline tracker.

In collaboration with Benefit Administrator, manage non-occupational related disability management cases from onset of disability to full return to work.

Oversee and manage full cycle recruitment for highly specialized technical positions and/or leadership positions for Canadian Operations group.

Manage and provide feedback to leaders regarding complex employee relations situations.

Develop, track and execute on Human Resources training & development initiatives through the use of Company provided resources (LinkedIn Learning, LMS system, etc.) Create & coordinate onboarding programs for new hires.

May provide Human Resources Manager with support on the development of Canadian Operations Policies & Procedures.

Take action on employee complaints, conduct investigations and provide recommendations for remedy to leadership.

Conduct full-cycle employee offboarding duties.

Background & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.

Pursuing CPHR is considered an asset.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a HR Business Partner or other HR role including coaching, employee relations, recruiting, training and HR project management or program implementation.

Applied knowledge of provincial laws and statutes for employment.

Must be a self-starter, tenacious, driven, and comfortable managing a high-volume workload in a complex and changing environment.

Travel to other Champion Petfoods locations in the region is required (Edmonton, Morinville, Acheson).
