Senior Consultant, Sustainability- Carbon Forestry

KPMG’s Sustainability Services practice provides a broad range of forestry and forest carbon related services to clients across Canada and Internationally.

As we expand there is an opportunity for an additional natural resource professional to join our Vancouver based forestry team.

This position is focused on providing forest certification and forest carbon related services to public and private sector clients but will also support the delivery of sustainability related services across a range of other industry sectors.

This position requires travel throughout North America and offers the opportunity to work on international forestry and sustainability assignments.

What you will do Participating in the delivery of forest certification audits and forest carbon verification audits Assisting in the delivery of forestry due diligence and advisory services across a range of public and private sector clients Supporting the delivery of a broad range of sustainability services across industry sectors What you bring to the role An appropriate natural resources related professional designation (e.g., RPF, RPBio or P.Eng.) or the ability to achieve a designation Consulting or auditing experience in progressive roles associated with sustainable forestry, greenhouse gas or environmental management Exceptional oral and written communication skills Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients’ business and maintain strong client relationships Strong organizational and analytical skills Desirable Skills A degree in forestry, biology or a related discipline.

Experience in carbon modelling, forest management planning, timberland planning, and forest operations Exposure to or audit experience with ISO 14001, SFI, CSA Z809 or FSC standards Exposure to or audit experience with GHG verification standards such as ISO 14064:3 Exposure to climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, particularly related to land use Knowledge / experience with sustainable forest management, including forest certification French language proficiency Keys to Your Success Being driven to continuously learn from experiences and seek out feedback and development opportunities.

Maintaining regular communication with the management team including Managers, Senior Managers and Partners, as well as clients.

Proven ability to sustain a high level of drive enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.

Bringing intelligence and dedication to meet demands at key times of pressure to execute final deliverables to the client.
