Role Summary

The Shipping/Receiving Team Lead is reponsible for shipping/receiving, material handling and warehouse management. Plant organization and tidyness is key for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs the Position Responsibilities of the Shipper/Receiver position daily.
  • Responsible to assist in the operations of the shipping/receiving area.
  • Supports the supervision of all Shipper/Receivers, Receivers, and Material Handlers; ensures they carry out their duties in a satisfactory manner.
  • Acts as a back-up to the Shipping Supervisor when they are away.
  • Oversees the shipment of completed goods to designated customers (including radio frequency and ASN scanning as required).
  • Ensures that trucks are sourced and scheduled in for shipment of goods to designated customers and designated sub-contractors.
  • Ensures all required data entry for shipping/receiving into computer system is completed in a timely manner and that all documentation is routed to the correct department/person.
  • Oversees the maintaining of all areas within shipping/receiving and ensures a clean and safe work environment.
  • Co-operates with Safety Committee and adheres to all plant safety and housekeeping rules and policies. Ensures all Personal Protective Equipment is worn, as required.
  • Assists Production with cycle counts as requested.
  • Follows up with customer on delivery rating hits that are shipping related. Disputes rating hits with customer. Customer delivery score goal to be 100%.
  • Responsible for safe loading/unloading of trucks. Ensures use of wheel chocks and trailer lock systems.

  • Operates forklift, when required.
  • Responsible for regular Safety and 5S Audits.
  • Ensure employees are compliant with ISPM-15 regulations and CTPAT.
  • Train new employee of Job Specific Hazards.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections.
  • Conduct regular safety talks.
  • Be involved with accident/incident investigation program.
  • Correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Commend or correct health and safety performance.
  • Responsible for proper handling, storage, and disposal of all chemicals, used materials and equipment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • All received products must be immediately scanned (no manual entries) into RST inventory system.
  • RST Cycle Counting Rules must be applied to all Cycle Counts.
  • Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.
  • Comply with all Rollstamp Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all Rollstamp IATF 16949 policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all Rollstamp ISO14001 policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other reasonable request by management.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Grade 12 minimum. College or University diploma/degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in automotive OEM shipping/receiving required.
  • Good computer keyboarding skills with general knowledge of T4M. Working knowledge of computerized shipping and receiving system. Working knowledge on the internet.    
  • Forklift license is required
  • Good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal.
